State Bank of India Rolls Free Facility for Filing Income Tax Return

The government has announced the last date to file the Income Tax Returns as of December 31, 2020. As the deadline to file the tax returns has to reach fast and to keep the interests of the customers, the country’s biggest lender State Bank of India (SBI), has rolled out a free service through their Tax2win option on the YONO app that helps them to file their returns. “Saving bhi, ITR filing bhi. File your Income Tax Return with Tax2win on YONO for free.” SBI said in a tweet. Furthermore, more than 4.54 crore Income Tax Returns for AY 2020-21 have already been filed till 29th of December, 2020, the income tax department informed in a tweet.

The customers of SBI, who are yet to file their tax returns can make use of this free service to avoid any further delay. The State Bank of India has reported on Twitter handle that the service is free for its existing customers but all those who wish to make use of this assistance from a Chartered accountant shall pay a minimum charge of ₹199. SBI customers can log in to the YONO app through their mobile phones and proceed to purchase ‘Shop and Order’. Then proceed with “tax and investment’. Later you can see a Tax2win option and select it for more details. To get the assistance of a Chartered Accountant, customers required to pay an amount of ₹.199.

They can also send mails to support@tax2win.in for assistance.  Internet-friendly taxpayers can e-file their tax returns on the Income Tax Department’s website by providing basic information like PAN no, password, date of birth, and captcha code to complete the process. The Income Tax Department has extended the date from July 31, 2020, to December 31, 2020, due to the covid pandemic. January 31, 2021, is the last date for taxpayers whose accounts need to be audited. Also, the due date for furnishing various audit reports was extended to December end. Similarly, the due date for small taxpayers with a tax liability of up to ₹ 1 lakh is January 31 next year.
