Stonehill International School Hosts Spectacular International Food Fair

Bangalore, 12th February 2024: The highly anticipated culinary extravaganza of the year unfolded as Stonehill International School, Bangalore, welcomed food enthusiasts to its International Food Fair (IFF) on the 10th of February 2024. The food fair showcased a global fusion of flavours, celebrating diversity through cuisine.

The food fair kicked off with the customary flag parade, a vibrant display of diversity, led by students and parents representing more than thirty countries within the Stonehill community. This symbolic display of internationalism set the stage for an unforgettable journey around the world, highlighting the melting pot of cultures present at Stonehill.

With over thirty-five food stalls, the IFF transformed the school grounds into a bustling international marketplace. Parents from diverse backgrounds brought forth the authentic tastes of their home countries, creating an immersive experience for attendees. From tantalising street food to gourmet delicacies, the food stalls featured a gastronomic adventure that catered to every palate.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, a live band electrified the audience, providing a lively atmosphere as visitors explored the diverse offerings. Community performances, including singing and dancing as well as Taekwondo with a twist and a lively Salsa dance class for the entire audience, further enhanced the cultural celebration.

Joe Lumsden, Head of School at Stonehill International School, commented, “The International Food Fair is more than just a culinary experience; it is a celebration of our diverse international community. It’s an opportunity for us to come together, share our cultures, and build connections through the universal language of food.”

Beyond the culinary delights and entertainment, the IFF holds a philanthropic purpose. All proceeds generated from the event will be directed towards Reach Lives Foundation for Homeless Children, continuing Stonehill’s commitment to making a positive impact beyond its campus. Reach Lives Foundation has a programme to support the health and nutritional needs of homeless and orphaned children. The entirety of the funds raised from IFF will be allocated to providing HPV vaccinations for seventy-five girls who have found a home within the programme.
