Bengaluru, 14 December 2024: The Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) is proud to co-host the highly prestigious 9th edition of the TiE Global Summit 2024. Scheduled to take place from December 9 to 11, 2024, in Bengaluru and December 12, 2024, in Mysuru, with the theme, “Let’s Celebrate Entrepreneurship”, the stellar event organized by TiE Bangalore will bring together global leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to celebrate and foster the spirit of entrepreneurship and encourage the tech startup ecosystem in India.

The landmark event commenced with the TiE Antar Prerna Leadership Summit, followed by other impactful sessions featuring esteemed dignitaries. The summit also showcased India’s emerging startups, presenting their pioneering innovations through vibrant stalls that embodied the spirit of creativity and progress.

In one of the power packed session “Igniting the Entrepreneurial Spirit” visionary speakers highlighted their view on entrepreneurship, Shri. Arvind Kumar, Director General, STPI shared his perspective in Q & A session on Democratizing of Entrepreneurship in TiE Global Summit, 2024. He outlined that more than 50 percent startups are emerging from Tier-II and Tier-III cities. Similarly, more than 50% of the startups are led by women entrepreneurs. He advocated for establishing entrepreneurship schools at the village level. He highlighted that startups are no longer confined to conventional business models, with many now venturing into deep-tech areas such as AI.

The STPI Sayuj Pavilion showcasing 100 trailblazing innovations was inaugurated by Shri. Arvind Kumar, Director General, STPI. These SAYUJ Startups showcased pioneering innovations in multiple sectors like AI, Agriculture, 

Additionally, STPI’s own stall in Hall 2 serves as a hub to showcase its initiatives, support programs, and services aimed at enabling a robust startup ecosystem. A ceremonial lamp-lighting ceremony set the tone, followed by an insightful session featuring Shri. Arvind Kumar and Mr. Ruchir Dixit, Vice President and Country Head, Siemens. The discussions between the two luminaries revolved around STPI’s critical role in nurturing innovation and fostering the startup ecosystem.

A highlight of the summit is the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) by the STPI  CoE in efficiency augmentation with prominent industry leaders including, Intel Technology India Pvt. Ltd., Bosch Global Software Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Schneider Electric India Pvt. Ltd., as well as celebrated academic partner Global IEEE Institute for Engineers (GIEEE), which underscore STPI’s steadfast commitment to advancing innovation and technology and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship across the nation. These partnerships focus on leveraging expertise in IoT, AI, edge computing, energy management, automation, and skill development to empower startups, enhance efficiency and contribute to the entrepreneurial and tech ecosystem that will help innovate next-generation technology solutions.

The STPI SAYUJ platform, a first-of-its-kind networking and resource discovery platform tailored for the startup community, also takes centre stage, providing unparalleled opportunities for startups to connect, collaborate, and thrive. Shri. Arvind Kumar’s engagement with STPI SAYUJ startups further underscores STPI’s dedication to nurturing innovation through mentorship, industry connections, and strategic collaborations. 

In an enlightening fireside chat, Shri. Arvind Kumar shared STPI’s vision for expanding India’s electronics and startup ecosystem. He highlighted STPI’s extensive network of 65 centres, including 57 in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, and its 24 Centres of Entrepreneurship (CoEs), which provide comprehensive support to startups in deep-tech areas like AI and ESDM. He underscored the government’s ambitious target of growing the electronics sector to USD 300 billion by 2026 and emphasized the growing contributions of women entrepreneurs and startups from smaller cities.

Engaging with these startups, Shri. Arvind Kumar also provided invaluable guidance on fostering industry collaboration, while also encouraging the entrepreneurs to embrace innovation and scalability as they move forward in their startup ventures. Shri. Arvind Kumar encouraged startups to embrace innovation with a “Just Do It” mindset, focusing on consumer needs and impactful ventures. He advocated for the establishment of entrepreneurship schools in rural areas and called for increased utilization of Indian capital to fund local startups. His insights resonated deeply with the audience, inspiring entrepreneurs to push boundaries and scale new heights.

The TiE Global Summit 2024 stands as a beacon of collaboration and innovation, with the STPI SAYUJ Community Startup Pavilion showcasing the future of technology and entrepreneurship. The summit aptly reflects the synergy between academia, industry, and government, positioning India as a global leader in innovation and technology.
