In the 85th Geneva International Motor Show Maruti Suzuki showcased its concept compact hatchback car iK-2. Also named as Maruti YRA premium hatchback, the company has plans to launch it in the month of October. The company is also looking for an export target of almost 50 per cent.
Talking about the design and positioning, iK-2 will be priced above the top-selling Swift hatchback, and its design will draw heavy influence from its largest selling car in that category, the Swift. According to the company, the iK-2 is ‘an ideal compact car’ with ‘Liquid Flow’ as its central theme. The iK-2 compact hatcback has got an overall length of 4,023 mm and overall width of 1,920 mm. The new hatcback from Maruti Suzuki has got a overall height of 1,450 mm and wheelbase of 2,520 mm.
Powered by 1.0L Boosterjet engine the iK-2 has a blackened A-pillar, large alloy rims, and muscular lines running across the top portion of the side profile. The front end U-Shaped grille gives it a peppy look and it has got a conventional looking front bumper with fog lamps which makes the look of the car all the more elegant.
