June 3, 2014: Apple announced the availability of Swift a new programming language at the developer’s conference yesterday. This language can be used to build apps faster which are stable and high in performance. This seems to combine the strengths of scripting languages like Python and those of the traditional programming language like Objective-C. Swift is claimed to be faster to write and test a program and also it can give enough power and performance too. In addition to that it uses a concept called ‘playgrounds’ where the developers can visualize Swift code output in real-time.
Talking about the benefits of this new language, developers can easily create an app and quickly test it too. The volume of coding required will be less, that will also speed up app development. Graphics in apps could also improve if this language can deliver power and speed as claimed. The only con of this could be mushrooming of apps now as more amateur developers will emerge and launch more apps with this language.
We can wait and see how this real-time app development programming language is going to perform in real commercial world.
