Symphony Limited, India’s most loved and trusted air cooler brand, has launched a heartwarming digital campaign to promote environmental conservation. Technology makes our life easier and more comfortable, yet also harms the environment. Our seas are dwindling, global temperature is rising, wildlife is suffering, and the planet is drying. The company has created a digital campaign to bring about change and awareness among its customers. It links air conditioners and tree preservation.

The ad portrays an elderly guy strolling over parched ground and a bird fluttering in the heat. They crave relief from the heat and see a tree in the distance. As they approach, the tree is dry and naked, shocking them. In another image, a youngster turns on an air chiller to create a beautiful green environment. The advertisement concludes dramatically with the trees turning green, birds singing, and the guy finding safety in the tree’s shade. Every Symphony air cooler used instead of an air conditioner saves 40 trees.

Symphony Limited’s Global Chief Marketing Officer, Anuj Arora, states, “Symphony is a very responsible brand when it comes to conservation and preventing environmental harm.” This campaign aims to educate customers about the environmental impacts of their decisions and how adopting sustainable cooling methods may contribute to a positive shift. Recent studies demonstrate that air coolers are more environmentally friendly and conducive. It’s time to save the earth.”

Most nations pledged to decrease emissions to zero and establish carbon neutrality by 2060 at COP26. Symphony has also contributed. They teamed with Infinite Solutions, an environmental consulting firm, to examine GHG emissions from air cooler manufacturing and sales. Symphony has made attempts toward carbon neutrality in the past. The firm planted trees on its facilities, adopted 11,000 square metres of wasteland, and created a 25,000-plant forest park. This cut 136.35 tCO2/year of emissions! The brand assessed their air coolers’ Carbon Footprint. Study results:

  • Air coolers emit less GHG than air conditioners.
  • 1 household air cooler saves 14.945 tonnes of carbon dioxide compared to an air conditioner, or 42 trees.
  • For 1 commercial and industrial air cooler, total carbon dioxide savings is 45.878 tonnes, or 128 trees.

According to Statista, a market and consumer data researcher, the total sale of air conditioners in the previous 5 years (2018-2022) is 3.33 Cr. We could have saved 140 million trees if customers had bought coolers instead of air conditioners (42 x 3.33 Cr).

It’s time we took collective responsibility for the devastation we’re causing to the earth. We may save trees and natural reservoirs with conscientious actions and choices.
