Valentine’s Day is a day to express love, make gestures, and tell your loved ones how much they mean to you.

However, after years of celebrating Valentine’s Day in fairly cliched ways, it’s time to come up with some fresh ideas for spending the day with that special someone.

So, if you’re one of those who want to go off the beaten path, here are a few novel ideas that will redefine romance while also surprising your special someone. Make a romantic ruckus

The epidemic reawakened the dormant chef in many housebound spirits, but the joy of making it together is even more rewarding than a healthy meal.

So, why not join a cooking class together, assign each other a dish to master, and hold a Valentine’s Day potluck?

Alternatively, prepare a buffet for two with all of your favourite finger foods, turn on the fairy lights, decorate the backyard, balcony, or verandah with candles, scatter cushions and rugs, turn on some soft music, and enjoy some home-cooked romance! Take a stroll into the sunset

If you’ve been affected by the pandemic’s faultlines, how about making a difference while spending quality time with your family and achieving your fitness goals?

Oxfam India hosts a Trailwalker every year to collect donations for various causes. The challenge’s theme this year is #WalkInMyShoes, and it aims to assist women and girls in need.

You and your partner can choose to walk 100, 50, or 25 kilometres over the course of ten days, taking a romantic walk every day until you meet your objective.

“The pair that walks together, stays together,” goes the proverb. Okay, we were joking, but the Oxfam Virtual Trailwalker Challenge has two dates available in 2022: 18 to 27 February or 4 to 13 March.

So sit back and enjoy the glow of love and a good deed. More information can be found at https://virtualtrailwalker.oxfamindia.org. Participate in a hobby class.

Films like ‘Dirty Dancing,’ ‘Chocolat,’ and ‘Ghost’ have inspired thousands of fans to learn to dance, make chocolate, and make pottery, but there are a plethora of other fun skills you can learn together. Simply pick a shared interest, pursue it, and it will offer you delight for years to come.

It may be candle making, scrapbooking, music, gardening, or even decoupage, and what greater gift to give each other beyond Valentine’s Day than an intimate ritual of creating something together.
