Tata Motors is in plans to unveil a new SCV (Small Commercial Vehicle) dubbed Magic Mantra in India in the next month. This is a step that the manufacturer will be taking in order to expand its product lineup under the popular Tata Magic public transport vehicle.

The Magic Mantra will be the latest entrant in the range of Tata Magic and it has already scaled a sales figure of three lakh units in the country. R Ramakrishnan, the Senior VP of Product Strategy and Planning of Commercial Vehicle Business Unit of Tata Motors commented on the same. He stated that they have received over 85 percent share of the market in the Tata Magic sector. Further, he claimed that they are in plans to consolidate the same with the launch of the Magic Mantra as it is a more powerful offering.

Revealing details about the Magic Mantra, he claimed that the latest model will have a 40 HP diesel engine. This is much better in comparison to the 16 HP engine given in the Tata Magic.

He further stated that they are listening to the demands of the customers. They wanted a Magic range vehicle that could travel long distances, run faster and climb better. This is the reason for the launch of the 40 HP Magic Mantra vehicle.

Apart from the powerful engine, the new Magic Mantra from Tata Motors will arrive with a common rail engine that is BSIV compliant. The company sells about 2,000 units of the Tata Magic range per month in India. It has planned to double the warranty period of these vehicles to two years or up to 72,000 kilometers. Earlier, the same was one year or 36,000 kilometers.

The Tata Magic was developed on the successful ACE platform and it was launched in 2007 as the country’s first small commercial vehicle. The vehicle is manufacturers at the Pantnagar plant of Tata Motors.
