Tata Sky Binge + partners with Zee 5 for strengthening their OTT platforms.

Today when the whole world is under lockdown, the customer viewing pattern has shifted from TV and theaters to OTT platforms. The popularity of OTT platforms has increased double the time of what it had earlier. Taking this consumer pattern into view Tata sky has also taken new steps to strengthen their OTT platforms. Tata sky announced that it will be partnering with Zee 5 which is one of the online streaming platforms for its android enabled smart set-top box that provides content from linear live television and a host of OTT apps onto a TV.

The Tata Sky Binge + subscribers will be able to access Zee5’s content for about 125000 hours across 12 different languages. The users of this will have a seamless experience they will also be given access to various advanced features available here like play movies, music, games, shows from either their laptops, tablets, mobile phones, or TV. With the presence of Google assistance, the consumers can also search through content by using voice assistance. These offerings are designed in such a way that they attract current consumers who are becoming more dependent on OTT platforms.

On talking about this tie-up Tata Sky spokesperson said that today are becoming the new normal and these apps are now becoming the popular medium for content consumption. Because they have received a huge response from the viewers for the Tata Sky Binge set-top box they are now moving to strengthen this offering by onboarding Zee 5’s unmatched content library, this will further help the subscribers to go through this library and thereby elevating the viewing experience of their audience.

While Zee5’s spokesperson said that they are very happy to make this partnership with Tata Sky. He hoped that the consumers will have a great experience by browsing through the extensive library of content across languages which is present 9in the platform. 

Tata Sky has also partnered with various other online streaming platforms like Disney+Hotstar Premium, Amazon Prime Video, Eros Now, etc. This indicates that Tata Sky is accepting OTT platforms as their new normal.
