Tesla’s supercomputer Dojo V1.0 will be ready within a year. The Dojo is a Neural Network (NN) chip, that is being developed by American electric vehicle and clean energy company, Tesla‘s hardware team to boost the learning speed of neural networks at the server-side.
Elon Musk on twitter revealed that they do have a major program at Tesla which they don’t have adequate time to talk about called Project Dojo. It is a super powerful training computer, that will be capable to take in immense amounts of data and train at a video level and do unsupervised cumbersome training of large amounts of video.
Elon Musk previously mentioned about the supercomputer several times and has invited individuals, who are enthusiastic in its development to join the company’s Artificial Intelligence team. Tesla‘s custom 144 Trillion Operations Per Second (TOPS) in their cars inference computer, where almost all TOPS are useable & optimized for Neural Network, which greatly exceeds anything else in volume production and it’s given the hardware demand to run complex nets.
The dojo is still being developed. It will be capable enough to process large volumes of video training data and run hyperspace arrays with an extreme count of parameters efficiently, ultra-high bandwidth between cores, and plenty of memory. There is plenty of unfinished works to be completed, but technically Tesla has its developments in simulation with Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) at 0.01 percent capability. Version 1.0 of Dojo will be released within a year.
Field-Programmable Gate Array is an integrated circuit meant to be configured by the client or the designer after manufacturing. FPGAs comprise an array of programmable logic blocks and a hierarchy of reconfigurable interconnects, that let the blocks to be wired together, same as several logic gates that can be inter-wired in various configurations. The FSD addition will arrive as a quantum leap.
Tesla imagines the world in three dimensions and the fourth dimension is time. Compared to your other automaker’s driver-assist tech, Tesla’s game-changing 4D Autopilot changes the entire sport. Elon Musk is applying the bleeding edge alpha build in his car, which requires nearly zero interventions between home and work.
