A Bengaluru company with prowess in conversational artificial intelligence (AI), their solution delivered last year is also being used by the Indian armed forces on the eastern and western borders. They developed a new united speech recognition based solution that can help elucidate cross-border intercepts along India’s northeastern and northern borders.
The end-to-end audio translation system created by Gnani.ai used in automatic speech identifying (ASR), the machine translation and speech-to-text converter Mandarin to English and is developed to help armed forces and it also helps intelligence agencies and local law enforcement authorities in developing communication systems and giving remarkable leeway to the defense forces.
The company has used more than 8,000 hours of audio data, four main regulars of Mandarin to train the system, & the company’s co-founder and CTO, Ananth Nagaraj, told TOI the tool would transform and develop the communication systems and help the armed forces to more powerful.
The solution has a huge range of applications that contain cross-border intelligence, voice surveillance, monitoring telephone &internet conversations, intercepting radio & satellite communication & to bridge interactions in border meetings and joint exercises.
The firm also said that their tool has properties like noise cancellation, dialect & accent detection, and works in all audio file formats.
Nagaraj said that they talk with the armed forces and on that date, they are 100 percent confident of them accepting this given their previous success. They will hear something from them on that day. In the year 2019, they delivered a contract for the army, and the solution for the problem is being used on the western and eastern borders. This all changed the game of them said Nagaraj.
Working with the armed forces, in this case, they understood that, just giving a text was not sufficient as not many understand Mandarin. So they offered a transcript in different Mandarin dialects, & a complete translation of the same one in English.
On the value of the year 2019 contract, Nagaraj said that he is not at liberty to give that, but he said it was significant. They are a group of 50 AI people in Bengaluru and the contract was worth enough to keep them all happy for some years.
