The Boys actor Antony Starr calls Homelander a ‘villain of peace’; teases dynamic with brand-new Supe Sister Sage
In the epic season finale of The Boys S3, Homelander, the world’s most powerful Supe and a terrifying reflection of a God gone wrong, delivered a chilling twist by reuniting with his son, Ryan. But what does this mean for Season 4? Ardent fans of the series eagerly await the answer to this question. Well, the highly anticipated fourth season promises an explosive return, with Homelander’s frightening power seemingly unchecked and a shocking new alliance formed within The Seven. This season delves deeper into the psyche of a complex villain and introduces formidable new Supes, with a brooding change in dynamics within the diabolical vigilantes, The Boys.

Actor Antony Starr hints at a potentially devastating turn for Homelander, calling him a ‘villain of peace’ and a ‘serial killer’, all at once. “He’s the villain of the peace,” Starr said about his character. “He’s a serial killer. He’s a psychopath. He’s a maniac. Eric Kripke never wanted a mustache-twirling villain, and I had no intention of delivering that. We’ve tried to create someone complicated, layered, spontaneous, and trying to do what’s ‘unexpected’ a lot.”

Adding fuel to the fire are two new Supes joining The Seven – Sister Sage and Firecracker. Sister Sage, played by Susan Heyward, with a superpower as formidable as her intellect, isn’t afraid to be brutally honest with Homelander – a quality the increasingly volatile leader desperately craves. With Sister Sage acting as the strategist to Homelander’s brute force, Starr aptly draws parallels between their dynamics and the game of chess. “If Sister Sage is playing chess, Homelander is the Queen that can go anywhere,” Starr shared. “Ultimately, he’s one of the best guys and the most important players on the chessboard.” With their combined strength and intellect, Sister Sage and Homerlander are a dangerous yet fun duo to watch out for in Season 4.

The Boys is based on The New York Times best-selling comic of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, who also serve as executive producers, and developed by executive producer and showrunner Eric Kripke. The series, from Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, is all set to return with the upcoming season on June 13 in English, with dubs in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages, only on Prime Video.
