The latest Mahindra Thar auctioned at a record price before its official launch

The very first Mahindra Thar unit was sold at an auction To provide relief funds for the struggle against Covid-19, ahead of the vehicle’s official launch on 2 October. The latest Thar 2020 was sold at a whopping ₹1.10 crore and Akash Minda from Delhi was the winner. The bidding process lasted three days and the Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra, declared the winner. Mahindra will balance the bid along with the auction number and will double the number to be submitted to an NGO battling against the spread of Covid-19. The auction recipient will pick the agency that will collect the grant.

There will be some special features and badges for the Thar 2020 first unit. A special badge will be granted to the first unit, which will differentiate the Thar # 1 and will be embossed with the owner’s initials. It will bear the number on the dashboard and the leatherette will be used for the seat upholstery.   The organization offered to get “a personalized badge on the car with your name, serial no.1 on the decorative yin plate on the dashboard and leatherette seats with a variety of variations and colors below” for the first Thar 2020.

On 2 October, the new Mahindra Thar 2020 will be launched and for all the models, the official price will also be declared. By the end of October, just in time for the festive season, the Thar 2020 is scheduled to be delivered to the customers.

The all-new Thar comes with two engine options and two transmission options. The vehicle has either a 2.0-liter BS-6 compliant mStallion TGDi Petrol engine or a 2.2-liter mHawk Diesel engine. A 6-speed automatic transmission torque converter & 6-speed manual transmission paired with a manual shift-on-the-fly 4×4 transfer case are included in the gearbox options.

The dashboard comes with A 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment device with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, and keyless entry are additional features. . The ground clearance of 226 mm will make it slip over immense bumps. 

It also has essential safety features, such as EBD ABS, dual airbags, regulation of hill-hold and hill decline, and rollover mitigation ESP.

The new Thar will also be sold by Mahindra for the first time with front-facing rear seats and a factory-fitted hardtop. It features a washable floor region, a water and dust resistant cabin scored IP54, and a comfortable convertible roof. Mahindra has ensured that it is still a city-friendly SUV, while the current Thar will continue to fulfill the needs of adventure enthusiasts.

On 2 October, the pricing will be reported and the vehicle is expected to be available in a price range of 10 lakh to 15 lakh Ex-showroom.
