As part of McDonald India’s #25ActsofHappy campaign, the fast-food giant is delighting its customers with a tasty surprise – a wholesome, new, and improved Happy MealTM.
This is part of the company’s celebration of its 25th year in the Indian market.
The new Happy Meal will include a choice of McAloo TikkiTM burger, or a McEgg Happy Meal burger (packed with the richness of protein) along with a pack of B Natural mixed fruit by ITC Ltd. (with no added sugar), a cup of hot juicy corn (rich in dietary fiber) and the iconic Happy MealTM toy.
McDonald’s has teamed up with the packaged consumer goods company ITC Ltd, and the latter has added its differentiated food beverage, B Natural to the Happy MealTM. Made from fruit pulp, puree, and a mix of six delicious Indian fruits, B Natural’s Mixed Fruit beverage is a source of Vitamin A and Vitamin C and contains no added sugar or preservatives.
According to Sanjay Singal, Chief Operating Officer – Dairy and Beverages, ITC Limited, their products have been setting new industry standards.
McDonald’s has in the past attempted to make the Happy MealTM more wholesome and nutritious in the US, by trimming the portion of french fries in its offering and adding fresh fruit or vegetables.
The initiatives it has shown in India are part of its #25ActsofHappy campaign the fast-food giant has launched to give customers sweet surprises throughout the year as it completes 25 years in the country.
Arvind RP, Director – Marketing and Communications, McDonald’s India (West and South), who spoke at the launch of the new Happy MealTM, talked about the integral role of children – who are the target audience of the new Happy MealTM – in the McDonald’s family and expressed their strong commitment to the Good Food Journey.
The Good Food Journey initiative was launched by McDonald’s three years back, aimed at revamping its menu to make it more wholesome and nutritious.
Some significant alterations that were made as a result include reducing the sodium content in some of their products by 20%, reducing the oil content in its mayonnaise, introducing the options of whole wheat buns, and many more.
The new and wholesome Happy Meal is available across all McDonald’s restaurants in South and West India.
