As businesses moved online to satisfy customer needs, search interest in direct-to-consumer, or D2C, brands increased by 533 percent. As Indians investigated before making decisions, the number of searches for “which brand is good” increased by 41%. Customers looking for a brand’s official store have increased by as much as 80%, according to the survey. 

The data from September 2020 to August 2021 was compared to data from September 2019 to August 2020 in the report, which was based on Google Trends. According to Sapna Chadha, vice president of Google India, “Covid has led to an extraordinary surge in internet usage in the last two years,” and “more and more people and enterprises are relying on digital technology.”
