The Visual Arts Commission launches its Cultural Trips program for artists and experts in the sector

Riyadh –The Visual Arts Commission announces the launch of its Cultural Trips program, which will take artists and visual arts experts on curated visits to various countries. Open to Saudi citizens and residents, this valuable opportunity will provide a space for exchanging knowledge and expertise, giving participants the tools to take their art to its apex. The Visual Arts Commission invites those wishing to participate in either of the first two trips to Austria and France in September and October, respectively, to register via the link: Registration (moc.gov.sa)

Note that registration will close on Wednesday, August 9.

The first trip, devoted to new media arts, will take place in Austria from September 5 to 14. Participants will travel to the cities of Linz and Vienna, making visits to the annual Ars Electronica Festival and Vienna Contemporary International Art Fair. The Cultural Trips program will also include specially designed workshops to foster the artistic and professional practices of the participants.

The second cultural trip will be in France, from October 17 to 26, focusing on the contemporary visual arts scene in Paris and its many opportunities. The stay will include various artistic visits, including to Paris+ par Art Basel, as well as other exhibitions including Paris Internationale and Asia NOW. This integrated program of art visits and workshops is tailored to artists, curators, and art exhibitors working in the contemporary visual arts sector.

The Visual Arts Commission has designed these cultural excursions so that each caters to a specific group of artists and visual arts specialists. In this way, each experience achieves maximum artistic and professional benefit for the participants. In addition to program visits and meetings, participants will benefit from socializing and networking within the group, discovering common concepts or interests in their artistic practices.

The Cultural Trips program, an initiative by the Visual Arts Commission, will enhance the artistic skill sets of participating artists and art experts. It also provides a platform for networking with international peers, thus encouraging knowledge exchange and new artistic alliances.
