According to an official statement made on June 17, the Skytrax World Airport Awards recognised Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport the best in India and South Asia for the fourth year in a row.
The Skytrax World Airport Awards, according to the statement, are based on a global airport customer satisfaction study that evaluates customer service and amenities at 500 airports every year.
According to the GMR statement, the airport improved its overall ranking from 45th in 2021 to 37th in 2022, and it is the only Indian airport within the top 50. According to the study, the GMR Infra-led airport has also been designated “the cleanest airport.”
“With their constant resilience, focus, and customer-centricity, all airport staff, stakeholders, and partners working at the airport have made Delhi airport the best airport in India and South Asia,” said Videh Jaipuriar, CEO of Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), a GMR Infrastructure Limited-led consortium.
He remarked that the Delhi airport has always established a new bar for providing the best airport experience to all of its visitors and will continue to do so in the future. From September 2021 to May 2022, nearly 100 different countries of airport visitors filled out survey questionnaires.
It looked at customer satisfaction with a variety of airport services and products, including check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security, immigration, and exit. According to the GMR statement, the airport raised its overall ranking to 37th from 45th last year, and it is the only airport from India to be featured in the world’s top 50 airports.
The GMR Infra-led airport has also been dubbed “India’s and South Asia’s cleanest airport,” according to the report.
