Unveiling ‘Just the Way You Are’: BIBA’s Film Celebrates Mother’s Day with a Twist

12th May 2022, New Delhi: BIBA, the leading Indian Fashion Brand is thrilled to announce the launch of its heartwarming and emotionally captivating Mother’s Day film ‘Just The Way You Are’ that touches the deepest chords of the heart. Through the film, Biba wants to send out a message to all those mothers out there who go out of their way to make space in their child’s changing world. A sweet and simple message from moody, next-gen kids that, we love you through all your cute mispronunciations and innocent slangs. That if a mother’s love can be unconditional, so can a child’s. This Mother’s Day, we want to embrace our mothers and provide them with a safe space. We want them to know that- You are perfect, just the way you are.

The film delves into the relatable moments where mothers may mispronounce slangs or try too hard to fit in with their children’s peers. It explores the evolving world we live in and the pressure mothers feel to keep up with the ever-changing trends. However, the film delivers a powerful message – mothers don’t need to strive for perfection or conform to societal expectations because their children love them as they are.

Through their thought-provoking films, BIBA has consistently demonstrated unwavering dedication towards shedding light on social issues that are often brushed under the rug. Different campaigns by BIBA like #EqualWorldStartsWithYou, #ChangeTheConvention, #ChangeTheConversation, #ChangeTheQuestion, #ChangeForProgress#WoMannKiBaat and #ChangeThePerspective have emerged as impactful initiatives that audiences have been able to resonate with across various platforms. These campaigns have played a pivotal role in breaking societal barriers and fostering a collective understanding of the need for change.

The film opens with a captivating scene featuring a family gathered around a dinner table – a mother, her son, her daughter, and her husband sitting at a dinner table. As the mother presents a croissant to her son, she mispronounces it as “cro-e-saant,” leading to a light-hearted moment of laughter. However, the impact on the mother’s feelings becomes evident, subtly touching the hearts of viewers. Subsequently, the film portrays the son engrossed in an English series on TV, while the mother tries her best to comprehend and engage with it. The son receives an inaudible phone call from a friend, turning to his mother for assistance. Overwhelmed, she realizes the pressure to prepare her signature dishes for her son’s friends, leading to a brief montage of her purchasing groceries and researching recipes online.

As the doorbell rings, the mother takes a deep breath and opens the door to welcome the children. They gather around the table, and she serves a delightful feast consisting of chicken parmesan, arrabbiata pasta, and bruschetta. To her surprise, one of the children expresses their love for her daal, while another mentions their fondness for Rogan josh. In a light moment, the mother corrects the pronunciation of “bruschetta,” evoking laughter from everyone.

The pivotal moment arrives when the son approaches his mother and expresses his gratitude, saying, “No matter what you cook, I call it love. Thank you, Mom, for always trying. I love you unconditionally.” The film fades to black with the powerful message: “This Mother’s Day, just let her know that she is perfect the way she is.”

Mr. Siddharath Bindra, Managing Director of BIBA, shared his perspective on the film, saying, “Our Mother’s Day film this year is an earnest tribute to the unbreakable bond between mothers and their children. We wanted to remind everyone that a mother’s love is not dependent on being in snyc with the latest trends. It is a love that transcends all boundaries and accepts us for who we are. A simple story that reflects our commitment to celebrating the essence of motherhood and the profound impact mothers have on our lives.”
