Prime Video’s reality-follow Original series, Follow Kar Lo Yaar that features the internet sensation and actress, Uorfi Javed in an unfiltered avatar has captivated audiences worldwide for its honest portrayal of Uorfi’s resilience and determination to carve a niche for herself in showbiz. Uorfi recently discussed her candid thoughts on personal style and inspiration for a fashion line with Maitri: Female First Collective, an endeavor by Prime Video to build a safe place for women in entertainment to discuss their experiences, challenges and successes.
The fashion icon has consistently defied outdated beauty standards and fashion stereotypes, encouraging viewers to embrace their individuality and express themselves confidently. Speaking about challenging fashion stereotypes, Uorfi Javed shared, “Thinking that a particular type of clothes fit a particular body type is really outdated. Likewise, the idea that a particular color suits a particular skin tone is also very outdated. Just wear whatever you want. As long as you are confident, that’s all that matters.”
When questioned about a possible inspiration for a Hindi film character-inspired fashion line, she said, “Silk from The Dirty Picture. She is such a contrast from Vidya Balan’s real-life persona. Actually, maybe a mix of both, Silk and Vidya.”
Produced by Sol Productions’ Fazila Allana and Kamna Menezes, and directed by Sandeep Kukreja, Follow Kar Lo Yaar is streaming now in over 240 countries and territories worldwide, exclusively on Prime Video.
