On Monday, General Motors India announced the launch of a modernized version of Captiva, its sports utility vehicle (SUV). This latest offering is released into two variants as its previous model and they are 4×2 manual and 4×4 automatic models. Their ex-showroom pricing inDelhiare Rs 25.13 lakh and Rs 27.36 respectively.
The latest version of Chevrolet Captiva continues to feature a similar 2.2 litre diesel engine as the old model and it can render 187 bhp power and 400 Nm torque. This engine is paired with 6-speed automatic and 6-speed manual transmission.
When it comes to the changes in the updated variant of the Chevrolet Captiva, the model is closer to Cluster Ionizer that is capable of generating ions that will purify and deodorize the cabin interiors of the vehicle. Also, there is a new instrument cluster that will render enhanced visibility.
The Captiva 2.2 has alloy wheels with 235/65 R 17 tyres and there is a sharp feature line running through its length. The vehicle features chrome highlights and a coupe-style rear window that will give it a distinct visual feel.
Talking of the rear design, the large tailgate and modish vertical LED tail lamps along with indicators dominate the looks. There are reversing lamps in circular elements as well. Underneath, there is chrome tipped twin exhaust that harmonizes the sporty looks of the revamped Captiva.
The automaker has includes amenities such as third-row heating, cruise control, ventilation, air conditioning, rain-sensing wipers, sunroof and electric parking brake. There are thoughtful storafge solutions such as an illuminate glove box, large wet/dry area under the load compartment floor, deep centre console bin, handy door bins and a rear centre console storage area.
Apart from these aspects, there are convenient features such as small item or coin and cup holder, bottle holder, seat-back pockets, ticket holder and dual compartment sliding driver armrest. Interestingly, the latest version of Captiva features three 12 volt power outlets to enhance the travel experience of passengers.
