Vodafone Idea which was recently rebranded as Vi and Bajaj Finance, get into a partnership to provide affordable every month instalments (EMI) on smartphones. The customers get smartphones with semi-annual and annual prepaid plans from Vi.

The partnership between Vodafone Idea and Bajaj Finance which was the lending and investment arm of Bajaj Finserv group is focused on making devices affordable with the ease of 4G access for Vi customers. By this move, the customers have a chance to buy a smartphone of their choice and a half-yearly or an annual Vi prepaid recharge plan at zero down payment and easy EMIs.

In consonance with the companies, the customers get discounts worth Rs 49 and Rs 99 every month as compared to market charges if Vi users choose for EMIs through Bajaj financing. The EMI will be determined based on the total billed amount which includes the price of the smartphone and the recharge as part of the partnership. After that to derive the EMI amount the amount will be divided into 6 to 12 monthly instalments.

The customers can either opt for Rs 1198 prepaid recharge for six months or Rs 2399 for 12 months. The customers will be required to pay an EMI of Rs 200 instead of an EMI of Rs 249 which are the open market charges for Rs 1198 prepaid recharge. The EMI for Rs 2399 plan will be Rs 200 as against Rs 299 which is the open market recharge price. Thereby the customers can save Rs 49 and Rs 99 every month for the semi-annual and annual plans respectively.

The benefits for customers who choose the 6-months variant of the prepaid plan can get unlimited voice benefits along with 1.5 GB data per day at Rs 1198. There will be 2 GB data per day along with unlimited voice benefits for the customers who opt for 12 months recharge validity at a profitable Rs 2399. At the time of purchasing the device against the recharge both the proposition also offers 100 free SMS and free national roaming.
