Sept 19, 2012: 58 year old Ayurvedic brand Vicco is planning to hit the market once again by launching shaving cream and face wash from its house. Vicco, which has built up a brand equity in the natural skin and oral care segment is trying to target youth with their new products. However, experts believe that it would be difficult for Vicco to reach young consumers until they change their traditional form of branding. They are of the opinion that Vicco brands do not have a clear positioning in the market.
Vicco group, which has 13 companies run by family members expect a turnover of Rs500 crore this year. The natural skin care market in India is estimated to be Rs 260 crore and is expected to grow at double-digit rates.
