Vodafone Idea or Vi has once more beaten the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) voice call quality outlines for the fourth month straight, this time for the month of February 2021. The telecom company has kept up its high rank for call quality since November a year ago. TRAI considers Vodafone and Idea two separate telecom companies on its MySpeed and My Calls portals despite the recent merger of Vodafone and Idea – Vi.
As per TRAI’s MyCall Dashboard data which crowdsources information collected through the TRAI MyCall application, Idea scored 4.8 out of 5 voice quality rating in February 2021, Vodafone scored 4.2 out of 5 voice quality rating, and others like Reliance Jio scored 3.9, BSNL scored 3.9, and Airtel scored 3.6.
Reliance Jio users gave 3,626 reviews that involved 29.7 percent, Idea users gave 35.4 percent or 13,499 feedbacks. Airtel users recorded 17.9 percent or 6,822 responses. Vodafone recorded 5,541 or 14.5 percent of the feedback while BSNL recorded 1891 or 5 percent feedback responses.
Coming to the call quality responses, 32,038 or 83.96 percent of users rated the call quality experience as acceptable, 2145 or 5.62 percent users rated the call quality experience as call dropped, and 3975 or 10.42 percent users rated the call quality experience as bad voice quality. As far as indoor call quality, TRAI MyCall application users gave a general rating of 4.2 out of 5, outside call quality rating was at 4.1, and traveling call quality was rated at 4.4 out of 5.
Vi recently introduced high-speed night time data for users between 12 AM and 7 AM at no extra cost. The telco has also launched two new prepaid plans that will give users health care coverage benefits. The two new prepaid plans are estimated at Rs 51 and Rs 301. They are currently listed on Vi’s website and are available to everyone. Coming to the plans, the Rs 51 prepaid plan is just an SMS plan while the Rs 301 is a combo plan that offers data, calling, and SMS benefits.
