Voice calls – a helping hand for marketers during the pandemic

The pandemic coronavirus has made every human to stay away from one other secluded in their homes, as per the shutdown rules imposed by the government. Due to this sudden change and the not being able to meet people face to face, has made humans around the world long for the connectivity that they miss. Thus, filling the hole with wireless voice calls.

In a report, it was stated that for years i.e. pre-COVID there is a steady decline in the time that people spend talking with one another especially over wireless phone calls. This lockdown has made people hungry over connectivity. So, considering the per COVID trend level, the voice calls has increased a lot whether it be via mobile phones, Wi-Fi calling or landlines.

Therefore, it’s now considered by many experts that voice to be the “new killer tech” …!! And businesses that would reopen, should be ready for this as now all customers would want to converse with them about any of their products or service from a safe distance. So, it is expected that in the new normal, phone calls between businessmen and customers are likely to shoot up more than ever.

Pre corona:

In the pre-corona period, a survey that was taken said that 60% of customers/consumers prefer to have an online connection between them and the businessmen and about 16% prefer mailing through email and a very few of about 15% prefer to visit them at their respective business location. This being the case during and after corona, marketers could make use of this to maintain a good relationship with the customers, via phone calls and online platforms.

Advantages:

  • Phone calls would provide marketers with the required deep insights as they’d get fast answers and feedback as compared to the other methods.
  • This could be more personal, making the customer’s trust increase resulting in high consideration purchases.
  • It would easy and comfortable from the customer’s side too as now social distancing is a must.

As a result, almost all digital marketers have started using inbound calls as a marketing channel as it has been proven to be effective.
