AWS RE: INVENT is one the most anticipated cloud computing events that is occurring this year. This event has been made virtually available for free held for the duration from Nov 30 to Dec 18. These events will be featuring unveiling new AWS cloud computing products. Under the category of machine learning based services this cloud giant has launched five series which are as follows: Amazon Monitron, Amazon Lookout for Equipment, the AWS Panorama Appliance, the AWS Panorama SDK, and the Amazon Lookout for Vision.
Amazon stated that the new machine learning language has are made in such a fashion that it will prove to be helpful in industrial as well as manufacturing companies that have embedded intelligence in their production process which will further improve the efficiency of operations along with other parameters such as quality control, security and computer vision capabilities The Main objective for which these services were developed are that they may help us to tackle generic technical challenges encountered by the industrial customers and also help one represent the comprehensive suite of cloud-to-edge industrial machine learning services be made available. Among the five series developed the ones that received the most Spotlight are AWS services, AWS Panorama and AWS Panorama SDK.
As per the statement in on Amazon’s blog spot, the AWS Panorama package is defined as a machine learning Appliance and Software Development Kit which mainly focuses on aiding companies to help them bring Computer Vision to the on-premises camera to make predictions locally that are of high accuracy and low latency. The AWS Panorama appliance hardware enables its users to add computer to their Internet Protocol cameras that were not built to accommodate the option of computer vision but has been already deployed .On the other side speaking about the AWS Panorama SDK which is a software kit that helps enable third party – industrial camera manufacturers to build new cameras that are embedded with a computer vision models that are meaningful for tasks that consist of objective detection and or activity recognition. The Camera are designed in such a fashion as to support the chip set that are designed for computer vision from NVDIA Jetson product family and Ambarella CV 2x product line. In the present era computer vision is heralded as one of the most popular application of artificial intelligence.
Amazon has stated that AWS Panorama will be able to identify and resolve issues at a faster pace to help improve product quality whereas also decrease the cost of production in a manufacturing company setting. It is also really powerful as it can easily detect and discover defect and issue alerts for implementing an immediate corrective action.
Hence my personal opinion is that AWS Panorama is most definitely going to bring a new dimension to computer vision game but as of now only time can tell what lies ahead!
