Wishes and Blessings, a Delhi-based renowned non-profit organization dedicated to fostering positive social change, celebrated its 10th Anniversary with the introduction of the WB Ambassador of Humanity Awards that saw ten achievers from various fields being felicitated for their contributions to the society, fostering community development, addressing social issues, and advocating for change on a grassroots level.

 

The WB Ambassador of Humanity Awards have been instituted with an aim to recognise individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and innovation in addressing pressing social challenges and driving meaningful impact within their communities and beyond. It will be a recurring event and every year it will recognise achievers who are making a positive impact on the society. These awards were solely based on the merit of the nominees and did not involve any entry fee. 

 

The award winners were Kuldip Gadhvi (Founder of United Artisans of Kutch, empowering local artists for financial independence), Nikunj Aggarwal (Founder of Abhivyakti Pathshalas, providing communication and entrepreneurial skills to over 250 students), Sagar Suresh Naik Mule (Reviver of Kaavi art, sparking public interest and preserving cultural heritage), Aadya Kapoor (Creator of “Colours Create Comfort,” bringing joy to paediatric wards in New Delhi hospitals), Sumeet Sanjay Patil (Champion of vocational training for visually impaired students, uplifting society through education), Shivali Dixit Saxena (Initiator of Spectrum – The Awareness Project, spreading awareness and igniting change), Srimathy Kesan (Educator in space science, inspiring rural Indian children and launching the groundbreaking ‘AzaadiSat.’),  Kifayatullah Mallik (Advocate for education, women’s empowerment, and environmental conservation, driving positive change), Karnav Rastogi (Climate change advocate and author, raising awareness and inspiring action). 

 

Commenting on the awards, Dr. Geetanjali Chopra, Founder & President of Wishes and Blessings NGO, expressed her enthusiasm for the awards, and stated, “As we commemorate a decade of service, the WB Ambassador of Humanity Awards is our endeavour towards recognising remarkable individuals who are transforming lives and communities through their unwavering dedication. It is an honour for us to honour those who with their extraordinary achievements have become a beacon of hope for millions.”

 

The nominations were scrutinised critically by an eminent panel of judges comprising 

Pallavi Shroff (Managing Partner, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.), Partha Mukhopadhyay (Senior Fellow, Centre for Policy Research), Rishabh Gulati (Managing Editor, NewsX) and Dr. Geetanjali Chopra (President, Wishes and Blessings).
