MSMEs set a new Guinness world record for the largest online business lesson, which had views for over 98 lakh minutes. The online session was streamed on Bada Business App, a Delhi-based firm involving over 4 lakh entrepreneurs from the MSME sector. It was a guiding session for rebuilding businesses in India post COVID19 situation. It was attended by several participants across the globe.

The MSME sector is referred to as the backbone of the Indian economy, contributing to around 45% of exports. The pandemic has put immense pressure on the MSME sector that it may result in a decrease of 40% in the GDP. This prolonged situation has led to an abrupt halt in its operations and widespread unemployment. Also, there is an urgency to set up an MSME-COVID Response Task Force, with industry, government, and banking representation. The prerogative of the task force would be to formulate plans that can help MSMEs to get back-to-production mode. And also create a blueprint or an action plan for the future when the pandemic is brought under control and market demand returns to normality since many MSMEs will not have the required capital and labor to bounce back to 100% production levels for a while.

Bada Business App is an initiative by Dr. Vivek Bindra, a motivational speaker, and business coach. They help in developing and improving entrepreneurial skills by providing consultations and also has an app with both free as well as premium content.

On the whole, the session got over 7.49 lakh total logins, watched by 3.78 lakh unique participants with an average concurrency of 50,131 during the four-hour session and it was viewed for a total of 98,54,293 minutes. The attempt created a new world record for the largest online business lesson, the previous record was held by a Russian gathering of 12,091 people in 2014.

Founder and CEO of Bada Business Vivek Bindra said the organization has also reached out to the Bihar government and is in discussion to begin a pilot program in the state for the training of migrant laborers, which can eventually be expanded to several other states. “We are delighted to have created a Guinness world record for the largest online business lesson and we congratulate India’s highly resilient MSME community for this achievement. At a difficult situation like this, where all businesses are under huge economic pressure due to the impact of COVID19, our session was attended by such a large number of entrepreneurs looking for professional assistance and guidance in adapting their ventures during the crisis,” says Bindra.
