Xiaomi Made in India phone to be launched today

Following the Prime Minister’s initiative of Make in India program, Andhra Pradesh has implemented another concept. Well, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu came up with the Make in India, Make in Andhra Pradesh initiative. As a part of the program, the first Xiaomi Made in India phone manufactured in India by will be launched in Visakhapatnam today by the state’s Chief Minister.

At the launch event, the Chinese manufacturer will make an official announcement regarding its expansion plans in the country as well. Notably, Xiaomi being a low cost smartphone maker is the largest smartphone making company across the world.

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh went to China at the beginning of this year. Now, Xiaomi Made in India smartphone would be launched from Visakhapatnam. Following Visakhapatnam, the launch of Xiaomi is believed to happen in the other cities as well.

As per the global smartphone sales, the figure is expected to witness a growth increasing from 1.5 billion 2015 to around 1.7 billion in the year 2017. This way, the country is expected to progress from third largest smartphone market across the globe with China being the first one. As of now, Xiaomi is aiming to expand its market presence and increase its market share in India.

At the launch event of the first Xiaomi Made in India smartphone, the Chinese manufacturer will introduce the device and it looks like CEO of Xiaomi India, Manu Jain and VP Global President at Xiaomi, Hugo Bara will remain there.

Lately, Xiaomi is coming up with new plans in order to expand its presence in the Indian market. The company recently tied up with Redington to make its devices available via the physical offline stores. This move will mark its drift towards the offline market from its online only strategy. The manufacturer has confirmed that the pricing of the devices in the offline stores will be similar to that on the online channels.
