August 28, 2014: Chinese handset manufacturer Xiaomi who recently announced that they will no more be selling the Mi 3 phones in India which was launched on July 22 has now announced that it would be launching its flagship smartphone Mi 4 in India by the year end. Xiaomi has launched close to 95,000 units of Mi 3 since its launch. The company is also planning to set up its Mi Home experience zone like they have in China in Bangalore within four to six months.
The company after Mi 3 would be launching its second product Redmi 1S on Tuesday with a retal price of Rs.5,999. Xiaomi has tied up with Flipkart exclusively to sell Redmi 1S and the registrations for the same will continue till September 2. The company plans to launch Redmi Note with a 5.5 inch panel in three-four weeks from now.
Quoting Manu Kumar Jain who is India head of operations for Xiaomi who in an interview to IANS said, “The next few things that we will be launching are Mi 4, our flagship product; Mi pad, which is a tablet and Mi Band, a health band. Mi 4 will come to India towards the end of the year, post-Diwali in all likelihood.” He further added that the focus of the company was right inputs and that if the inputs are good the outputs will follow. He said, “The best service centres, the best products and ensuring that products do not have issues. We ensure the software is great and customized for Indian customers and the pricing is right. If the inputs are right, output will follow, which is the number of phones that we are selling.”
The company which has now set up 35 centres across India to ensure after sale services will be expanding its centres is also looking forward to sell in India through its own website Mi.com in the future.
