Zee Theatre’s year-ender special

As a year-ender special, Zee Theatre brings five new insightful and relatable teleplays. They will be screened from 27th to 31st December on Tata Sky Theatre.

Here is an overview of the offerings:

GUDIYA KI SHAADI

In the lead role we have Shweta Basu Prasad, playing the role of a strong and confident girl Gudiya. The teleplay pokes fun at the standards of beauty set by society. Gudiya is proud of her dark skin and is doesn’t care what the judgemental society thinks.

On her wedding day however, her carefree life takes an unexpected turn. A shampoo mix-up makes Gudiya lose her eye brows and her dream Indian wedding turns into a wicked comedy. Will Gudiya be able to save her marriage?

The teleplay also stars Virendra Saxena, Saroj Sharma, Samta Sagar, Anveshi Jain among others, and is directed by Sourabh Shrivastava. Gudiya ki Shaadi will be screened on 27th December 2021 on Tata Sky Theatre at 2pm and 8pm.

WHITE LILY AND NIGHT RIDER

Two 30-something individuals build online identities with the pseudonyms ‘White Lily’ and ‘Night Rider’ and fall in love with each other. But things don’t go as planned when they meet in person

The teleplay highlights the differences between the real and online personalities of people. White Lily and Night Rider is directed by Swapna Waghmare, and stars Sonali Kulkarni and Milind Phatak. It will be screened on Tatat Sky Theatre on the 28th of December at 2pm and 8pm.

THE WILL

A teleplay about six youngsters who rendezvous at an ancient mansion in the hope of a large inheritance. Here they are confronted by strange forces that dwell in the house along with the horrors of their past. The teleplay is set in the 60s and has elements of horror and humor.

The Will is directed by Akhilesh Jaiswal and stars Pawan Chopra, Anil Charanjeett, Brijendra Kala, Shriswara, Anjum Sharma, and Vikram Kochar. The Will will be screened on Tata Sky Theatre on 29th December 2021 at 2pm and 8pm.

SIR SIR SARLA

The story of Professor Palekar and Sarla, his student who has a crush on her mentor. Then there is Phanidhar who has a love-hate relationship with the professor. Sir Sir Sarla is about the bond between teachers and their students which changes erratically and spontaneously. Secrets are exposed and allegations are thrown.

Sir Sir Sarla stars Aahana Kumra, Makarand Deshpande, Anjum Sharma and Sanjay Dadhich. The teleplay will be screened on Tata Sky Theatre on 31st December 2021 at 2pm and 8pm.
