Zomato launches Women’s Riding Center in Mumbai to facilitate two-wheeler riding training for improved access

Mumbai, March 6, 2025 – In a significant step towards empowering women and enhancing their mobility, Zomato inaugurated its first Women’s Riding Center in Mumbai on Wednesday. The center was inaugurated by Dr. Bhushan Gagrani, I.A.S., Municipal Commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

As part of Zomato’s broader livelihood program for women, these centers aim to break gender barriers in the logistics sector by equipping women with the necessary skills to succeed. The initiative includes physical training centers in multiple cities, including Mumbai and Ahmedabad, to facilitate skill development and employment opportunities.

Through this program, Zomato aims to train 10,000 women, providing them with the expertise needed for roles within Zomato-affiliated companies. By offering structured training and mobility support, the initiative seeks to create a more inclusive workforce and enhance economic opportunities for women.

Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Gagrani emphasized the importance of such programs in fostering gender inclusivity in traditionally male-dominated industries.With this initiative, Zomato continues its commitment to social responsibility, fostering an ecosystem where women can thrive in the gig economy while overcoming mobility and employment challenges.
