Graced by the esteemed presence of Chief Guest Shri Kailash Gahlot, Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, the event brought together key stakeholders from across the EV ecosystem to discuss the latest trends and innovations in the electric two-wheeler EV segment. Akshima Ghate, MD, RMI India and Karthik Ganesan, Director, CEEW graced the occasion as the Guests of Honour. Zomato’s EV Bazaar aligns with the Delhi government’s goal of making the city the EV Capital, supporting initiatives like the Delhi EV Policy and the 2023 Motor Vehicle Aggregator and Delivery Service Provider Scheme.

At the event, Zomato launched its exclusive EV Portal, a tool designed to boost operational efficiency by enabling faster response times and quicker vehicle allocation from the EV deployment players. It allows the EV deployers to reach out to interested delivery partners and offer their EVs on rent while effectively managing the EV inventory deployed for the usage of the delivery partner(s) onboarded with Zomato. The event also saw the high rewards and recognition towards the top delivery partners riding EVs where Kinetic Green and Quantum supported two delivery partners with a free EV. The Zomato team also showcased EV-focused films to support a seamless transition to EVs for its delivery network.

Commenting on the event, Anjalli Ravi Kumar, Chief Sustainability Officer, Zomato, said, “At Zomato, we are committed towards facilitating 100% EV-based deliveries by 2030. Building on the success of previous EV melas and bazaars, which influenced around 5,000 delivery partners to switch from petrol-based bikes in FY23, the EV Bazaar further supports Zomato’s mission to reduce last-mile delivery emissions. The event is designed to ensure that delivery partners are well-informed about the benefits of EVs and supported in their transition. By providing a platform for them to gain these insights, our objective is to increase the EV penetration amongst them and to shift their intent towards the ownership of EVs”.

Shri Kailash Gahlot, Hon’ble Minister of Transport, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, commented, “The Delhi Government has been steadfast in its commitment to creating an environmentally conscious city. We strongly advocate the shift towards EVs, recognizing their environmental and economic benefits, and support initiatives like EV Bazaar by companies like Zomato and Blinkit that aim to increase awareness among gig workers.”

With the participation of over 1000 Zomato and Blinkit onboarded delivery partners, the EV Bazaar showcased a series of insightful sessions. Following the keynote address, Abhishek Dwivedi, Business Head- EV, Zomato highlighted Zomato’s efforts to fastrack EVs adoption in the delivery fleet of Zomato and Blinkit to meet the sustainable mission well before the timeline of 2030. The day included presentations on EV benefits, financing options by NBFC, and interactions with OEM stalls. The event concluded with delivery partners engaging in test drives and exploring EV features, which helped them get hands-on experience with these vehicles.

Zomato has been offering carbon-neutral deliveries since 2022 and has pledged to facilitate 100% EV-based deliveries by 2030 as a member of Climate Group’s EV100 initiative.  Zomato’s EV program uses four levers to facilitate this transition to EV-based deliveries: Improving access to EVs on rent for delivery partners through tie-ups with over 90+EV rental companies and OEMs and a digital referral tool, onboarding EV-based logistics service providers, supporting ownership of EV bikes through collaboration with financial service providers and lastly, enhancing delivery partner awareness of different models and benefits of using EVs for delivery through online and offline activations.

“Kinetic Green is proud to partner with Zomato to make EVs more accessible to delivery partners. The Kinetic brand is well loved by Indian 2-wheeler riders and through events such as this EV Bazaar, we aim to showcase the benefits of our green scooter range, and especially our new e-Luna which is most suited as an ideal solution to the needs of the delivery partners, with its stylish and strong chassis, a lot of room and convenience for carrying goods and ample ground clearance for any terrain. We look forward to building this partnership and bringing green mobility to millions!”, said Ritesh Mantri, CEO, Kinetic Green.

Fateh Alam, Delivery Partner, Zomato, “I’ve been riding an EV since last December and found it to be very beneficial in terms of savings on fuel and maintenance.  It’s also pollution-free. I’m glad to have been recognized for my choice and efforts as an EV Superstar by Zomato.”
